Rosemary Woods
A native of southern California, Rosemary has always had a passion for drawing and painting since she could hold a pencil. Rosemary pursued drawing, painting and photography in college; always using her camera to obtain subject matter for paintings.
Rosemary’s love for history – particularly the Native American culture – has been the inspiration for her work in oil, colored pencil and graphite portraits. Her paintings depict real people, taken from her own photos or from history books. Rosemary had the pleasure of traveling with the Native American people for 3-1/2 years, learning their culture and history first hand which granted her the opportunity to take many photos for future artwork. Rosemary’s paintings have been the recipient of various awards and have been exhibited in galleries throughout the country and in Germany. Some of her original pieces and prints are in private collections throughout the world.
